Under the British Council funded project “EAP100: Infrastructure Building for Degree Level Nurse Education in Cameroon”
awarded to the University of East Anglia, the University of Buea, and the Higher Institute of Applied Medical Sciences Buea,
12 Cameroonian nurses traveled to the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK in April 2008.
These 12 students constitute the first batch of the new Professional Masters in Nursing Education programme that was designed,
launched in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Buea under the auspices of the EAP100 project. For two academic years,
they shall undergo course work, teaching practice and research and graduate as the first ever specialist Nurse Educators in Cameroon.
Six out of the 12 are Staff of the Higher Institute of Applied Medical Sciences, and the other six are from the University of Buea.
The team that was lead by the Deputy Director in charge of Administration at IAMS are back in Cameroon and are continuing the programme
in University of Buea.
